# Local Files

{% hint style="warning" %}
This page needs review
{% endhint %}

The Local Files tab provides a dedicated management panel to review, confirm, or modify how video assets sitting in your device folders match up against your synchronized server libraries. These database link bindings are localized exclusively to your active playback device.

#### 📋 Overview & Metadata Attribution

The main interface includes legally required tracking metrics and system data credits:

* **Directory Management:** Folder paths must be added or removed directly from the server configuration interface within the main application.
* **Data Attribution:** TV metadata structures are processed and served via [TVmaze](https://www.tvmaze.com) under the formal CC BY-SA data license agreement.

#### 🔍 File Sync Tiers

The workspace organizes device storage assets into three distinct evaluation states based on matching confidence metrics:

**1. Needs Review**

This pane isolates files where the automated scanner has low-confidence, ambiguous metadata results or flags multiple potential title candidates.

* **Action Drawer:** Users can manually review individual file rows, select the single correct title card from a group of candidate matches, and click *Confirm Match*.
* **Dismissal:** If an asset does not exist on your host system, selecting *Not on my server* drops the row into the tracking archive.

**2. Linked Files**

Displays all verified, high-confidence automated matches alongside files manually confirmed by user profile overrides.

* **Status Badges:** Each row carries an explicit state marker showing if a link was established via background engine tracking (`AUTO`) or user-forced validation (`CONFIRMED`).
* **Fix Match:** Opens a contextual picker modal showing alternative poster thumbs, episode indexing summaries, and description data to remap a video file.
* **Unlink:** Breaks the active link association entirely and strips away all pinned artwork files without modifying the raw asset sitting on physical storage paths.

**3. Dismissed**

Houses the historical graveyard of ignored files or unmatched scripts.

* **Tombstone Records:** Files stowed away inside this collapsible section are completely bypassed by background playback loops.
* **Undo Restoration:** Clicking the *Undo* recovery action flushes the exclusion flag from the file row, instructing the next scheduled system sweep to re-evaluate the asset fresh.
