# Commercials

This section handles the sourcing, frequency, and alignment of commercials.

#### Global Settings

Define where your commercial content lives and how the app access it.

* Commercial Library: Use the dropdown menu to select the specific media library (e.g., "Commercials (movie)") that contains your ad spots.
* Source Toggle: Enable Source commercials from one library to dictate whether the app pulls from a single centralized pool or follows a more complex directory structure.

#### Commercial Alignment

Alignment determines how the app calculates "breaks" to maintain a realistic schedule grid.

* No Alignment: Ads play immediately when a show ends. The next program starts at an irregular time (e.g., 8:22 PM).
* Time Alignment (Linear): The app fills the remaining time of a 30 or 60-minute block with ads so the next show starts exactly on the hour or half-hour.

> Example: If a sitcom ends at 8:22 PM, Time Alignment will fill the 8-minute gap with commercials so the next program begins precisely at 8:30 PM.

#### Commercial Length (Frequency)

Control the "length" of a break by the number of individual clips played.

* Commercials Between Shows: Use the plus/minus selector to set the specific number of clips (range: 1–5) to play during each transition.

#### Channel Commercial Settings

To get your channels to actually play commercials, you must enable them for each specific station in the Channel Commercial Settings list.

* Enable/Disable All: Use the global Enable All or Disable All buttons at the top to mass-manage commercial playback across your entire lineup.
* Individual Channel Toggles: Use the toggle switch next to each channel (e.g., 1001 Dizzy Channel) to turn commercials on or off for that specific station.
* Customizing the Source:
  * Pick Source: Assign specific commercials to a single channel, overriding the global selection.
  * Advanced: Define a sequence of bumpers and commercials. Each segment pulls from a Plex source.
  * Copy From: Quickly mirror the commercial configuration from another existing channel to save time.
