# Web User Interface

*The Web Remote is a powerful desktop companion to the NostalgiaTV app. It offers an expanded workspace for managing large channel lineups, visual scheduling, and server-wide configurations.*

{% hint style="info" %}

#### The web interface has gone through many visual changes. Screenshots may not be 100% accurate to the current version of the app.

{% endhint %}

#### Getting Connected

To access the interface, your computer must be on the same local network as the device running NostalgiaTV.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Locate the Address

**Open Settings** > **Admin** on your device and find the Web Remote settings. Toggle the option on.

{% step %}

### Verify Status

Look for the green 🟢 Connected indicator in the top right corner of the web page.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Keep the device awake and the app open. When a device goes to sleep or switches apps, Android likes to suspend the app deep enough to disable its network connection.

#### 🖥️ The Navigation Hub

The Web UI is organized into four primary tabs, each handling a specific part of your broadcast network:

* **Channel Customization:** Manage your station list with new General and Advanced scheduling tabs for every channel.
* **Commercials**: Fine-tune global ad behaviors and set fixed commercial counts between programs.
* **Groups**: Bundle multiple videos (like short-form cartoons or themed trailers) into a single, continuous block in your guide.
* **Schedule**: View the interactive, real-time timeline of your entire network.
* **Design:** Modify the look of NostalgiaTV
* **Cloud Sync**: Link your Firebase database and manage your multi-device synchronization.
* **Profile Configuration:** Settings for the active profile on your device.
* **Servers:** Connect the Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby servers that feed your channels, and choose which libraries appear in the guide.
* **Local Files:** Review how videos in your device folders were matched to your server library.
* **Admin:**

#### 💾 Configuration Tools

At the top of every page, you have access to global management tools:

* Export Config: Download your entire setup—including custom channels, logos, and commercial settings—to a backup file.
* Import Config: Upload a previously saved configuration to quickly set up a new device.

***

#### 🚀 Advanced Channel Logic (introduced in v0.4.16)

Inside the Channel Customization tab, you now have access to an Advanced tab for every station:

* Balance Media: Equalize show representation to prevent a single series from dominating the channel.
* Restrict Hours: Confine a channel's programming to specific times (e.g., a "Late Night" channel that only airs from 11 PM to 4 AM).
* Content Weighting: Use sliders to adjust how frequently specific shows appear. Higher weight equals more airtime.
* Time Slot Scheduling: Assign specific shows to air at designated times on certain days of the week.
